I’ve seen OP mention a few times that they thought it would be okay because they were manually copying and pasting the image link, and people agreeing, which tells me that folks don’t really understand what the issue is. Okay lemme clear something up real quick, as someone who has also made an oft-used Flight Rising tool that has never had any issues like this and never will. Please share both sides of the story, I don't want people to get the wrong idea of me. The only thing I want at this point is to not be seen as someone who did this maliciously, or even intentionally. I forgot the tool even existed up until I got the notif my account was suspended. My reblog has more information, but TL DR. If i knew this, I would've taken it down immediately. I did not realize it was breaking the rules. I believe that this has lead to a biased view on the whole situation, especially since that's the version of the post that caught on.Ī lot of people seem to be under the impression that I was breaking the rules intentionally, or even maliciously. and not with my personal clarification on what happened. I want to bring attention the fact that this blog only reblogged the version of nimstratus' with the offical FR mod's reaction. I'm and the creator of the tool that nimstratus and me got suspended for. ![]() Sending this off-anon because I want to make sure I can be responded to privately if needed. The only thing that I want is to not be seen as some kind of guy who goes out to break the rules intentionally and make the site suffer. I don’t have access to the pastebin link where the code for the tool was uploaded, so I can’t take that down. I’m genuinely sorry for the damage this has caused and have taken everything down that I could. I do not understand why I couldn’t have been warned and asked to take the tool down first.Īgain, I genuinely did not know hotlinking was disallowed. I completely understand that they want to reduce strain on their servers. In fact, I had forgotten it even existed up until now. Nor had I touched the tool for over a year. I did not know that this was considered scraping. It was a tumblr theme, artists had to add the their skins manually on their own blog. All the tool did was have the user copy the link of the dragon, paste it into a textbox, select a skin from a dropdown and it’d slap the images together. ![]() I had no idea that hotlinking from the site was against the rules. (reposted bc i reblogged to the wrong creator of the tool that you said flight rising responded calmly to.
